Nas and Kelis in happier times
I wasn’t going to post anything about this since it’s a little old, but it’s obviously still causing such a big debate on Twitter. I’m actually a little mad at the angry men coming hard at all women because of this and I want to say “All women are NOT gold diggers!”
I am kind of in shock at the amount of money he has to pay too. I didn’t think Kelis was the type of person to try to go after him like that. While the amount is excessive, I can’t really judge her because I don’t know what was going on behind closed doors. Kelis is a singer, and she could easily go out there and make her own money! I wonder if Nas told her that he didn’t want her to work just like T.I. told Tiny. If that was the case then I understand why she would go after his money like that.
People also need to remember the amount is combined spousal and child support. I don’t know how lavish of a life she was used to with Nas, but I’ve never seen him floss and spurge. I just hope that after a year he’s able to stop paying her spousal support and just pay child support. She should be able to find work in that time frame. She won’t be able to use the same excuse Diddy’s baby mama used about the child being used to this lavish life because that baby was just born and isn’t used to anything. I have kids and I don’t get anything for them and I’m doing just fine and so are they! He can easily adapt to normal life with a household making $2500/month just like all other kids in america… Can Kelis?
